Mind - No Clutter
In honor of spring, it is time to get rid of some stuff. As a deeply nostalgic person this can sometimes be hard for me. However, as someone who also prides themselves in the ability to move forward and toward more vitalized expressions (because life is short), I also find it necessary at least once a year to purge things that I simply no longer need. This isn’t exactly a mindfulness practice, but I believe clearing space in order to call in new experiences is something that keeps our energetic arteries clear from build-up and needless static.
The things I get rid of will not go to waste. I will give a medium sized bag to GoodWill, and the nostalgic in me will be vindicated. What can you offer this spring?
Body - No Heat
I love a buttery, soft scrambled egg, thicc applewood smoked bacon, and the occasional powdered-sugar-dusted liege waffle. However, in an effort to reduce my grocery bill (since eggs wanna cost $87 now) and my cholesterol—which as it turns out is getting higher the older I get (surprise surprise)—I have switched to eating fruit, veggies, nuts, and a variety of yogurts, skyrs, cottage cheeses, and other milk proteins.
Spirit - No Noise
Nala Sinephro is a Belgian ambient jazz musician whose main medium is the pedal harp. General warning about this is that it has the ability to pull you into a rather existential mindset. It can sneak up on you and inoculate you from bypassing behaviors, so if you’re suspending disbelief, also maybe not a great album to listen to. However, if you, like me, are in search of spaciousness this album is worth a listen.
