Mind - Habit Building
They say it takes 66 days to build and establish a new habit. I find this type of research and exactitude fascinating. I think it’s easy to write off pop psychology because it feels inherently one-size-fits-all and it never feels good to get put inside a box. We all want to feel (and to some extent tell ourselves) that our experiences are unique. The thing is, we all must start somewhere.
This week, I encourage you to take that first step toward building a new habit (this same technique works for undoing old habits that you want to break, btw!) Get yourself a daily planner, a wall calendar, or print out the above template, and mark off every day that you complete whatever habit it is that you’re looking to build/break. I will circle back to this in two months, so watch this space (yes, it’s homework!)

Body - Eat a salad
Yes, I said eat a salad. Sometimes being firm is more effective than being gentle!

Spirit - Sport Mode
I created this playlist in 2020 at the start of the pandemic when I picked up running outside at Kenneth Hahn park to avoid existential dread. It helped keep me motivated during arguably one of the craziest times in all of our lives. I still listen to it, and I add to it regularly. It is audio caffeine—full of intelligent drum & bass, jungle, breakbeat, hardcore and other untz untz, ultra-high tempo, 170+ BPM tracks. Enjoy 🔥
